The U.S. Mountain Ranger Association is a voting member of the Ranger Hall of Fame (RHOF) Board and may submit up to three nominations each year. USMRA has established a RHOF Committee to ensure the most deserving and best-qualified candidates are selected for nomination.
Eligibility
Any USMRA member may recommend a qualified candidate. Proposed nominees must have served in a Ranger unit in combat or be a graduate of the U.S. Army Ranger School, and must be separated or retired from active duty for at least three years (this rule does not apply to the recently deceased).
How to Submit a Recommendation
Recommendations are due to USMRA no later than 15 September. They should take the form of a letter of nomination outlining the individual's achievements, service, and/or valor in enough detail to warrant selection by the USMRA RHOF Committee.
A complete nomination packet includes: a letter of nomination, a list of Ranger assignments, a biography, contact information (for the individual or a relative if deceased), a proposed citation, an 8x10 photograph, and a DD214. The person making the recommendation must be willing to provide this and any additional information needed to ensure an accurate, complete, and competitive packet.
Recommendations may be held over for subsequent years at the Committee's discretion. Each year, the RHOF Committee selects and ranks qualified nominees, and their decisions are final.

The nomination packet format and submission timeline are set by the Ranger Hall of Fame and can vary year to year; this information is typically available each November. View the current list of RHOF inductees or download the official nomination packet from Ranger Legacy.
