Message: I consider myself very lucky and fortunate to have served with Col(R)Bob Howard twice. I highly respected him and admired him for everything he took the time to teach me as a young Buck Sergeant and as a Sergeant First Class. He would not ask you to do anything he was not willing to do with you. Sir, you carried more than your share of the weight and you definitely “Led The Way” for many of us…..There are not enough words to express the gratitude for all you did…..Ranger Howard, Rest in Peace- Sir, You will be missed by many.... Thank You…... RLTW Jim Owens

...Minutes from August Meeting...

...Steve was under the weather, Doug Perry has pneumonia...it was up to Sonny to lead the way...

...some crazy idea of taping the meeting came to mind of an idealistic S1 that YouTube would be a great way to share what goes on during these hallowed moments all over the world...

...the plane was heading down fast, 2 minutes in...

...First problem...tip jar...Sonny mentioned it then Willard the Chaplain produced it...problem solved...Sonny nails the Camp CO for at least a dollar, who pleads penniless...

...Pete took the floor with one thing to say: having gotten no free t-shirts, this last one was his last one...expletives as such made me worry about posting rules on YouTube...

...Chuck spoke of having to buy his...

...Al Parten had question about building a smoker, with Gary Head's kin helping us out last year and with two for free next year...

...audio went out on my video tape...Al kept talking about the smoker and Sonny moved things along...

...Dan Rhode's in SC but Bob Williams gave his report as Treasurer...

...Al Parten donated two tables, worth $600 each, recovered from NGCSU and Mountain Mike said he could put them on his porch for safe keeping...

...Sonny said if anyone had individual things dealing with individual people they "should take this up away from the group", then turned attention to Robert Suchke and his report for money to be recorded by the Treasurer.

...Pete had his second one thing...the smoker back outside is there for all to use...Bob Suchke yelled, "Thanks Pete" and Al spoke of the October eating before Sonny turned back to old business.

...Sgt Fuller, Club Manager, spoke of the new AC and it cost $432.29...Sonny said we'd get him the difference, but Bob Suchke figured we could give him the difference from the money off the coin sales...Sonny called for a discussion, which confused some others, and since some foks "don't know what they're voting on", some discussion brought a motion...for $32.39...passed unanimously and Bob took the money and Sonny affirmed we'll solve any problem that "comes before us"...

...folks started calling Sonny, "Mr. Chairman"...

...talk of Doug Perry in the hospital, released Wednesday from the hospital...Sonny asked about contact info, and we should call or go see him..."All of us need to have his number and to let him know he's not just loved by some of us, but all of us"...Someone claimed to know Doug better and "it was likely he'd cuss you out if you just up and called him out of the blue"...

...Chuck motioned for Mr. Chairman to donate tee-shirts to Pete, asking for a chance to remark...Sonny asked for any discussion, which seemed to be what Chuck initially was asking for...Then without further ado, we have a motion, second, and Bob Williams, just as this was about to be law, jumps in and says the old tee shirts are gone, they were left over from the year before but the brand new designs are first to go to Pete, what color, size and Bob will get them for him with the brand new logo...the old one retooled...

...Sonny wants Pete to wear the tee shirts the next time we see him...called for a vote....all in favor passed unanimously...

...Pete had another something to say...a fish fry at least twice a month, but Bob Suchke said about during the USMRA meetings, since Pete's willing to do the work...someone get the fish...and return the bi-monthly fish fry...again Bob Suchke saying have it done during the once a month meeting...Sonny explained what "more regular" meant...Al Parten asked for point of contact on fish..."Logistics wags the tail", from Bob Suchke...Pete was told by Sonny, "we'll report on this for the next meeting", the logistics about how all this will be done...

...any further new business...Four more Fallen Rangers are able to be recognized with information going to Bob Williams...

...Pete has another one things...the sign with Peanut Anderson, Ranger Buddy, who helped Pete at CCO since '63..."don't know how much I appreciate it"...

...Sonny asked for motion, and second to finish, Al made the motion and then the Camp CO was identified...Sonny-"Please address us"...LTC O'Brien_"You're addressed"...not so easy...again, prompted to speak, LTC O'Brien spoke of the new CSM Frank James, on the 12th of August, at 0900, a ceremony for him down at Lower Mountaineering...

,,,Sonny again appreciated the LTC for being here and then, before "we almost screwed up", Sonny asked for a motion to adjourn, seconded immediately with Bob Suchke again deferring...

...22 minutes in...if anyone wants a copy of the video, I'll hope it won't get past too much further...we're almost ready for prime time...*right*...

...just one more thing...

...Rangers are still Leading The Way...
