Posted: 01/24/2019 Name: Jim Regan Message: Ranger Chuck. Any minutes from meeting on the 10th? Hope all's well and everyone made it through another hectic, but joyful holiday. For the folks in the Dahlonega area, keep yer fire starters handy. Can't count the times we used them out in the hills during the winter. Ranger Studs thought we were really special 'cause we had such handy dandy tools! Already formulating plans for the CCO and our attendance. Both Mike Jaussaud and I plan to bring our Honeys along with us.It's been a while since Lois Ann visited Dahlonega. Ya'll take care, stay warm and dry. See ya when the snow melts, April or so. Jim RLTW/L&P |

Posted: 01/18/2019 Name: Bob Williams Message: The USMRA will continue to support members of the Blind Veterans Association (BVA) as they continue to section hike the Appalachian Trail. In October they will be hiking the section from the North Carolina/Georgia border at Blue Ridge Gap to Fontana Dam. We are looking for association members and/or community members who know the area and can help us determine overnight locations and evacuation locations along the AT. We especially need hikers who can time each 7 – 14 mile segment in order to determine a schedule. Forest Service cooperation is essential and any contacts will be appreciated. If you can help out with any aspect of this event, email bwilliams@usmountainranger.org. Thanks for your support, |

Posted: 12/13/2018 Name: Jim Regan Message: Just logged on and saw that Ranger Bob McMahon has passed on. I've got fond memories of my time at MRC and Bobby. Both Kenny Davenport and I have told and retold the tale of the L-20, parachute operation with Bobby as DZSO. HIGH WINDS! It seems so easy to laugh about those times and wonder how we survived. Rest in Peace Brother Bob. Jim RLTW/L&P |
