Message: Hello everyone.

I've had to come back to NC for a family illness, & I'm sad to say I won't be able to be with you today for Col Scruggs' ceremony.

I'm honored to have served with him when I was a young Ranger. He would always say "if I can ever help you, let me know".

A favorite Bible verse comes to mind - Joshua 1:9

Message: Ross, been out of the net. Busy with tne Astronomy Club and NGCSU students and the Observatory. Got news for you, looking thru some of my old stuff. Today I located a little of the info for the RM1R64 FTX and the Maps with the Grids for 9 Drop Zones and 80 Landing Zones and Ambush / Raid sites . Yes we did Jump every Cycle, and Airmobile several times during the FTX. We went as far North as Blue Ridge/ Morganton, and Skeenah DZ. Jumped into Dail DZ, Garrett Farms Dz whole story there, Davenport, Harkins, Stockhill,Dail,EtowahWimpy, Stringer, all Drop zones. The area was called AO Tango, we even ran the FTX at one time from Brawley Mtn, and did patrols in the star creek AO. Quick story, on one Jump at Davenport, some of the RI's and Studs had to cross civie land, I had already coordinated it, they left the barbwire fence open and Jack the Mule escaped. The owner about 70 yrs old was very unhappy. I had to stop the entire FTX to look for Jack, so you got about 30 RSE and 20 RI's and the Staff looking for Jack, finally a RSE soldier saw the mule and the animal does a hasty retreat, well Kania was chewing tobacco, coaxed jack in and we recovered the frigging mule with a chaw of tobbaco. Tha old ass mule loved a good chew, and walked right into his pasture. Anyway Ross I got some stuff that has to be one of a kind. Still have maps that have movement from FFU outside Merrill, thru ORP to OBJ then to the next PB for RI changeover. I even got got stuff from I think it was RM1R41 DRD, Dugway Utah, ya know we ran that FTX too, Ramsey set it up in 85, Davis helped continue it. Well, I'm talking too much, see you in the flesh Ross. Lots of stuff to follow. Al P.
