Message: Thanks for checking, Doug Perry. We're fine, took the high ground here 17 years ago, stayed high and dry ever since. A lot of people around here aren't so fortunate though. There are still people without water and some without electricity over a week after the main event. A lot of people who had no idea that they were in a flood zone found out the hard way. Eleven small dams in this immediate area failed and just washed people out. Over 100 roads are still closed and will be for months or more. I don't know how many bridges are gone. They're actually looking at the possibility of using AVLBs to replace those bridges on a temporary basis just to get to people who are stranded. Hard times for some. Thanks again for checking on us.
