Posted: 12/31/1969 Name: Lance Bagley Message: Rangers, I enjoyed attending the open house yesterday and attending the MRA meeting. It was my first time attending, and I enjoyed the fellowship and brotherhood and plan to attend more often. I also wanted to check on the scholarship award. I noticed only 1 scholarship was given yesterday, and I wanted to see if the second is still available. My daughter is a graduating Senior with many significant accomplishments. She received early admittance to UGA and NGCSU, but selected to become a Bulldog this fall. She recently received a scholarship from American Legion Post 201. Posted: 12/31/1969 Name: Mark Jordan - Secretary Message: USMRA MTNG Sep 2015 ...you people... ...having this chance to pen words, as the definitive authority on what has gone on in these meetings since Keith Antonio said he'd substitute as needed, I have listened a few times to recordings before I post minutes... some is worth repeating while I have been cautioned more than a few times as to content I'd personally post in a heartbeat... ...so please enjoy these insights as you may...of a warm late summer's eve, draining of light over western ridges away... ...on the OverHang's back porch about twenty assembled to enjoy our time together...Chaplain Willard Langdon's prayer is always a wonderful moment as he brings our group into focus... ...Bob Suchke told of feasts and famine right after Lt. Fuzz said his piece... ...talk of Coin Reordering took center stage and Bullet already said, with all his fencing off and handy budget ideas, that we had... plenty to get more coins... Ed Gross and Sunny Bragg got into questions and explaining why we can order now, not later, when the money would be raised before we ordered more...Ed was probably wrong..."uh oh" was heard as apparently someone was disagreed with... ...the vote passed to get 100 new coins, now... ...Bob Williams talked about the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, in Meeks Park, outside Blairsville on October 8... flyover request for a Huey at 1550, ceremony begins at 1500... ..."Civilized Side of Mulky Gap"... *blink*... ...as soon as Bob got thru explaining the Oct 8 Moving Wall Exhibit at Meeks Park, he was asked to continue updating our progress as he and others maneuver us into the right sort of non-profit...it may be an easier process than what we first thought, both in time and expense... ...JD Kirby seamlessly picked up the conversation and updated us on our process for Ranger Hall of Fame matters, both in people and process...two of our nominees have asked for a later consideration and we'll go forward with the two others...as our non-profit status allows us to check that particular requirement off, potentially we'll be voting members soon for our Ranger Hall of Fame... ...JD continued in the projections for upcoming future events and deadlines and proper formalities we're not used to...(Critter CookOut WHOOO HOOO)...and even making our open nominations for RHOF to be balanced with NCOs or no rank at all considered... ...Bob Williams said the nominee did not have to be a USMRA member... ...talk went on for awhile about our USMRA Membership requirements and without any decisions, we agreed that we can grandfather members into our rowdy bunch of benning refugees who are not with us now...a proposal was made to identify and welcome those into our membership, allowing their families and friends to join us at our Critter CookOut... ...Bob Bischoff said that we talk a bunch but not much carries over from one month to the next... ...going more and more about details into our development of a strong program on the next level of Ranger Organizations, we finally let Bob Bischoff introduce Scott Drummond as his guest, a journalist and veteran from Towns County...being not from us, certainly not accustomed to Rangers together, he said, "I guess you all know what the Coast Guard does"... *blink*... bless his heart; Scott won't get two mulligans... ...Frank Park, OverHang CEO, said that Halloween is covered...incidentally, he will miss the October Eating Meeting for wisdom teeth extraction... ...presentations will be made at our next meeting in appreciation for the great help graciously provided for our last CCO...as Dog X is happening, we'll back porch it once again...bring your kindly prepared and appreciated fellowship as we talk trash one more time... ...these are the minutes... you people... ...RLTW... ...Lt Fuzz... |
