Posted: 12/31/1969 Name: Jim Regan Message: Just got back from a wonderful "Gathering!" The Send Off for an "Honor Flight!" WW II, Korea, Vietnam Veterans. Seventy(70) of them, w/ their escorts. First one out of here, Lexington.I plan to get involved, and hope to go on next flight as an "Escort!!!" (Let someone else do all the driving on the trip!!!) Had bunches of folks from Lexington and surrounding area out there. At O'Dark thirty!!! ROTC Color Guard, TV guys, Rolling Thunder, Our Senator, Andy Barr, and lots more.The only thing missin' was a "Marching Band!!" I love Bands and Parades!!!
I'll be back at airport to welcome them home tonight. Lots more pictures to take!

This is how it goes... up to 12 are welcome without going thru the Battalion S4. ...Betty says the best time to be eating is around 0800 - 0830, when they close the line down. Just giving a heads up for those interested and the particular Saturday is the SECOND SATURDAY of each month. ...decisions of all that depend on a USMRA endorsement and until January 2017 meeting, it is just an idea. Posted: 12/31/1969 Name: tom wilburn Message: Many of you have had the privilege of serving with MG(P) Christopher Cavoli at some point in your Ranger career. He is currently the 25th Infantry Division Commander, but will soon be promoted to LTG and become the US Army Europe Commander. He served at Camp Merrill as a Company Commander, and has always stayed true to his roots as a Ranger by leading from the front and reserving the toughest duties for himself. I know our Army is in good hands as it continues to promote Senior Leaders of his quality, and I am proud to have served under his Command on many occasions. His change of Command in Hawaii is on 04 January 2018 at 1000L if you happen to be on the Island. |
