Posted: 12/31/1969 Name: Doug Perry Message: Rice, I used to call you uncle ben from the RICE thing. I indeed remember you .You and Stafford was on the Mtn Comm. If I remember right both of you came out of the 82nd to the mtn camp. Me and Crump was Ranger buddies in class # 6-62 Jan- Mar of 1962.Where are you located now ? You need to come to the Critter Cook Out every year if possible. Pappy Hudson was the one that had all the critters in the cages, but that is another story. Pappy was not Airborne so he and his patrol had to be inserted by airmobile,I was RI on an airborne patrol which had priorty on the leg patrols. As I walked across the bridge to get on the Hueys to jump, Pappy and his leg patrol was standing there. I said in a very loud voice, get the hell of the way and let Airborne Rangers pass.Pappy picked me up and tossed me into the Etowah creek Chute ruck and all. I jumped a wet chute that day. Oh well that is another story. RLTW. |
