Posted: 12/31/1969 Name: Jim Regan Message: Mike, for some reason or another, they always had the "Weapons Platoon" play the Aggressor Role in the field(when we did not have live fire.) We used to baffle the stuff out of the "Rabbits," (Rifle Platoons,) as we called them. Ambushes, and just plain good tactics. We, the folks in the Platoon, really enjoyed the free play!!!Had sevedral Recondo Grads(101st) in the Platoon at Campbell, Several In the Platoon at 508th. Only one Ranger in the Reserve outfit,and or,Weapons Platoon that I served with.Jim RLTW |
