Posted: 12/31/1969 Name: Michael M. Keohane Message: Just my luck, they make it easier after I leave. Handles & loops for the troops. That explains the indoor latrines and new barracks. Looking forward to the next month's meeting, the "Fish Fry," "Critter Cook-out," and the "Open House." I will be bringing my apron & some homemade jalapeno peppers to help me pull kitchen duty. |

Posted: 12/31/1969 Name: Chuck Windham, Secretary Message: After missising several key officers from the July meeting, the USMRA monthly meeting was convened by President Hawk on 7 August at 1905hrs. Another wonderful invocation was delivered to the 23 Rangers assembled. The meeting progressed with discussion on whether or not the July meeting was legal under the Association bylaws, since only one elected officer was present. Those members assembled voted to accept the Secretary's reading of the July meeting. Reports were presented and accepted from the Treasurer for the July and August meeting. A healthy report was presented including coins sales, and was accepted by the membership. The tabled motion on increasing the scholarship award was revisited. Much dissusion finally produced an amended motion to increase the 2 scholarships to $1,000, provided the USMRA has the funds. Discussion followed on how to raise funds were explored, with no final solution offered. The meeting adjourned at 1953hrs. |
