Posted: 12/31/1969 Name: Al Parten Message: Smokin' Joe, that is where I agree 100 % with you. Tami has been at every event the USMRA has had a cookout.. The Easter Egg Hunts, Pine Valley 50th anniversary of Mountain Ranger training,went in the freezing cold to get the trout for the fish fry when the rednecks tried to steal them, all but 2 CCO's Shopped for all of us when others could not be there, spent the night in the Ranger Students barracks, at the MRE cookoffs etc... To say that she cannot be at or help with the CCO is to be honest, in my opinion an insult to her. Why hurt Tammy's feelings when she has done so much. Other wives have also contributed as well as girlfriends, and people that just show up and say can I help. So , I am confused, as to what the real deal is, since I was still watching the grill during the last eat and meet.And for you Steve Hawk, I never lost the objective, just been there when you were MIA. Earl and I have no problem, A Ranger before me and still stands his ground, although I don't think I deserve a Major Minus Spot report for speaking my mind. Hooahh ! |

Posted: 12/31/1969 Name: ted tilson Message: no, you're referring to howard hunt. mac is talking about msg/col robert (bob) howard. col howard was a cpt and maj at cfm, and would not have been considered "human", in the eyes of any ranger student, let alone very many ri's. they don't make them like bob howard any more. howard hunt passed away about 8-10 years ago unfortunately. he wasen't very "human" either, if i recall, and i do! but he was a very good friend and an experienced nco/officier. Best of luck to Cody. 400 days in Afghanistan sounds like a prison sentence. You! Boy! 400 days in the hole! I will be unable to attend the CCO this year, but I will be there in spirit. Treatments against the beast will conclude in the fall and hopefully I will be able to participate again. In the meantime I'm working slowly on another book. I miss you guys, but I'll be back. |
