Message: Need some help. Bill Acebes is sending around a roster by e-mail to original members of 1st Ranger Battalion, and he's asking that the list be "scrubbed" and made complete. If anyone has an old jump roster, unit roster or anything of that type, you can probably add a lot to it. Some of the info is from "official records" but some of it is being "cut and taped" from memories, and I have to admit, my memeories for first names is terrible. We called each other by last names or nicknames back then, and I can only recall just a few of the first names, as I reviewed the roster. I believe there are 610 names on the current roster that he's circulating, but there are a few blank boxes with regards to first names. If anyone can help him, please feel free to contact him at: acebes175@hotmail.com

The throws are four layer woven throws 48" x 68 ". Of Course you recognize the background flash colors with the Ranger Tab and 5th RTB Traing Scroll. The emblem we used is a copy of the newest coin from the MRC. Mountains with the Roman numerial V with the "Sunoco" Patch in the foreground as this was the patch that the 5th Ranger Battalion wore when they landed at Omaha Beach. The Ranger Instructor on the right and the climber on the left. They will sell for around 45.00 and we ordered 100 in first order. I'm sure they will sell fast as some are already ordering two and three at a time. See you at the Cookout

As I periodically check this site while deployed, it helps keep me and many other Rangers in touch with our Mountain Ranger Brothers. Unfortunantely there are far too many postings of Rangers headed to their final Patrol Base. (God bless them all)

I thought it would be good to share something positive with everyone. Ranger(1SG) John Coomer recently earned the Silver Star and was recognized at Fort Bragg during an awards ceremony after his redeployment. 1SG Coomer is far too modest to share his exploits with his Ranger buddies so I thought I would pass this along. The link at the bottom of the page takes you (or paste it into your browser)to the video clip about his heroics. I am personally very proud of great Americans and former CFM heroes like John and just wanted to share the good news of Mountain Rangers still leading the way!He is not the only one out there doing great things either. Lets all pass along the good news of these great men!
