I've just been advised that Ranger Herman Street has occupied his final patrol base. I spoke with his step-son Steve Dillinger by phone in the last few minutes. Ranger Street and I served together in the 1st Battalion in the beginning June of 1974 and attended the same Ranger class, (6-75). We were in same platoon throughout Ranger School.

I do not have arrangement information and am waiting for an update when the family retuns from the funeral home. I do know that Sossoam Funeral Home in Morgantown NC will be handling the service. That is about 50 miles east of Ashville NC.

The fmaily has asked for assistance in a few areas and I will be taking care of the uniform needs. I also will contact the Camp and see if and Honor Guard and Burial Detail can assist. For you old Cadre remmember that Herman ran the club just before he retired.

You can contact the family at 828-405-6726, or mail at 5182 Patton Rd. Morgaton NC 28655. His wife's name is Charline.

If any of you Rangers out there are near by I'm sure a visit will help. I've said my prayer and will add more later

Rangers Lead the Way
